The EU-Representation of Carinthia provides young Carinthians or Austrians studying at Carinthian universities with the opportunity to do a five to six month traineeship in Brussels. This traineeship opportunity has developed into an ideal training programme for young Carinthians. During the months spent at the EU-Representation Office, the trainees gain extensive insights into the activities of the EU-Representation and the work of the European institutions. They benefit from the experience working in a multicultural and multilingual environment in the EU quarter as well as from the varied activities of the EU-Representation. The main tasks include working on the weekly electronic newsletter, research on EU-legislation, helping with the preparation of events and visitor groups in the EU-Representation Office of Carinthia and attending panel discussions, lectures or other events in Brussels.
Who can apply
University students who have completed at least half their studies or students who are about to graduate as well as recent graduates. Fluency in German and very good knowledge of English is required.
Duration of the traineeship
Five to six months
- Attend international events, lectures, panel discussions
- Assist in the production of the weekly EU-Newsletter
- Assist with the logistical aspects of visiting groups and events
- Research on EU-topics
- Support with administrative and organisational tasks
